Focusly ("the app", "we") is a personal productivity app for managing tasks, habits, goals, and rewards. This policy explains what information we collect, how it's used, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Account information — your email address, and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile photo.
Content you create — tasks, habits, goals, ideas, rewards, and related notes, dates, and tags.
Google Calendar data — if you connect Google Calendar, we read and write calendar events in order to keep your tasks and calendar in sync. We only access events on the calendar you connect; we do not access any other Google Calendar you have not authorized.
Google Drive access — we request limited Drive access (restricted to files our app creates or that you explicitly open with it) to support a file-attachment feature. As of this policy's last update, this access is requested but not yet used by any shipped feature.
AI assistant requests — if you turn on the AI assistant in Settings, the requests you type or speak (voice recordings are sent to Groq only to be transcribed and are not stored by Focusly), together with the task and habit details needed to carry them out, are sent to Groq to process. We also record how many requests you make, to enforce a daily limit.
Push notification subscription details — if you enable reminders, your browser's push subscription endpoint, stored only to deliver notifications you requested.
Basic technical data incidental to running the service (e.g. server logs from our hosting and error-tracking providers).
How we use your information
We use your information solely to provide and operate Focusly's features: displaying and syncing your tasks and calendar events, sending reminders you've enabled, and maintaining your account. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Google user data specifically: Focusly's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Third-party services
Focusly is built on top of these providers, each of which processes data on our behalf:
Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
Google — sign-in, Calendar sync, Drive access (only for the scopes you explicitly grant).
Vercel — application hosting.
Groq (only if you turn on the AI assistant) — runs the AI model that processes assistant requests. Groq does not use this data to train models.
Sentry (optional) — error tracking to help us fix bugs.
Your choices
You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from Settings — this immediately stops sync and deletes the stored access tokens.
The AI assistant is off by default. You can turn it on or off at any time in Settings.
You can export your data at any time from the account menu.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings in the app, or from this page without installing the app.
Children's privacy
Focusly is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
